THE MEANING OF COINS
IN CARTOMANCY

Coins Cards of the TarotCoins represent material goods and, in particular, financial assets.

The reference to business, to work, to ones income and earnings, is obvious.

Coins mean material success, good deals, financial income, even if it must not be taken for granted that happiness will follow.

In fact, the Coins have always had an aura of misfortune and lack of values, which does not contribute to attaining personal happiness.

Coins – when the topic of the consultation is inherent to work or business – are undoubtedly very positive and underline probable economic success.

However, the economic side is not the only one, in that Coins may also simply represent a good deal in general.

When interpreted together with the surrounding cards, they may also mean the acquisition of or earnings from particular assets expressed in nearby cards.

The Meaning of Reversed Coins

Reversed Coins mean a waste of resources, economic losses, or even only the desire for wealth.

Reversed Coins, above all when there are court cards (pages, knights, queens, kings) may concern a person who should not be trusted – generally speaking, someone “corrupt” – ready to go with the flow and betray you.

Important Note

Suit cards must not be interpreted only by analyzing the symbolism associated with the suit.

The Minor Arcana must in fact be read by taking the following into consideration at the same time:

  • The meaning of the suit (Wands, Cups, Swords, Coins).
  • The possible presence of court figures (pages, knights, queens, kings).
  • The numerology associated with the card.
